Latina with Purple Rose

Found a sketch I made back in 2003 and decided to give it some color. I don't remember the reason why I sketched this Lady with the mean eyebrows. Sometimes you sketch something not knowing what to do and things just tend just take shape. ladyrose601ladyrose600

The Art Piece that started it all. #tbt 1994

Not Just another book Report.

The moment when I realized that I had some artistic talent. I was assigned to do a book report in 4th grade (1994). The assignment was to do a write a summary of a book on the back of this construction paper and then draw something that represents the book on the front. After the project all of the student's work hung in the classroom for a few weeks.

When drawing the scarecrow out I thought there was no way its going to come out good cause up until this point I was just coloring in coloring books. After finishing the piece I was so happy on how it came out. It came out better than I could have ever imagined. The excitement carried over through dinner and my mom then offered to take me to an art class on the weekend. I said "yes", and the rest is history.

Spawn: Piece I made back in 1998

My mother would take me to art class every saturday during my late elementary and middle school years. It was then that I started to develop basic art skills such as shaping, lighting, and shadows. Back then Spawn was my favorite character above all. More than any wolverine, gambit, or batman. To me he was the coolest. Growing up looking at the artwork of Todd McFarlane made me want to become an artist. I don't know if I would be where I am today without Spawn.
